Term Deposits

(Registered and Non-Registered)

We offer a wide variety of Term Deposits with guaranteed returns and competitive rates. They earn higher interest than a regular savings account and are eligible for registered plan investments. And the best part is they only go up. Term Deposits have a guaranteed return.

At Rapport Credit Union, eligible deposits in registered accounts have unlimited coverage through the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA). Eligible deposits (not in registered accounts) are insured up to $250,000 through the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA). For more info click here

Short-Term Deposits

When you have a lump sum of money that you can afford to tie up for a short period of time, a short-term deposit is usually the way to go. Your money is invested for the length of the term, but that can be as low as 30 days, and will usually net you a higher rate of interest.

  • 30 day terms available – minimum deposit of $1,000 required
  • 3 to 11 month terms available – minimum deposit of $1,000 required
  • Interest paid on maturity
  • Guaranteed rates

Long-Term Deposits

When you have a lump sum of money that you can set aside for a longer period of time, a long-term deposit is usually the better choice. Your money is invested in for the length of the term, with choices ranging from 1 to 5 years, and will usually net you a higher rate of return.

  • 1 - 5 year terms available
  • Interest paid annually
  • Guaranteed rates
  • Minimum deposit of $1,000 required
