Hybrid Personal Account Manager/Financial Advisor

The Hybrid Personal Account Manager/ Financial Advisor will attend to the lending and investment needs of Rapport Credit Union (“Rapport”) members and potential members. By understanding the members’ financial objectives, the incumbent will provide counselling services in the area of lending, investing and financial planning. The incumbent will also be responsible for growing the North Bay branch lending and investment portfolios by attracting new business and retaining existing business. They will assist our members in achieving their financial goals by providing advice and recommendations to fit their needs through a wide range of financial services, including personal loans and investing.
Key Responsibilities

Proactively establish, develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular contact and the concept of relationship building to expand member/client relations and provide the appropriate advice and recommendations to fit their financial needs.

Through sales excellence earn the right to ask for business and drive new referrals and branch portfolio growth.

Participate in marketing sales related business development activities by actively soliciting membership growth opportunities. Some travel throughout the community will be required.

Promote a full range of personal banking products services with emphasis on personal lending and investment products and other credit union services.

Interview loan and mortgage applicants, analyze financial information, access credit and ensure compliance, operations, and system controls in accordance with Rapport regulatory standards and government regulations.

Accountable to grow their assigned lending targets and investment portfolio based on the Branch and Financial Planning team’s yearly objectives; including retention of existing business and develops further business opportunities.

Provides financial planning services to current and future members; develops financial plans for members by identifying member financial objectives, gathering processing and analyzing relevant information, developing the financial plan, implementing and ensuring consistent follow-up.

Promotes, upholds and supports Rapport's mission, vision and Rapport’s strategic plan through development and execution of programs and initiatives to support the financial wellness of our members.

Provides investment advice and identifies the appropriate solution including registered and non-registered term deposits and TSFA’s that fits and meets the members’ needs.

Reviews performance of investment portfolios quarterly with assigned members.
Required Education, Experience, Training or Certification:

Post secondary education with 3 years related experience in a financial institution.

IFIC or IIROC license required.

Minimum three (3) years’ experience working as a Financial Advisor

Minimum three (3) years of sales experience

Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated and up-to-date product knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures; specifically in Investments, Consumer and Mortgage Lending and Marketing.

Excellent sales and service skills.

Ability to think outside the box and devise creative workable solutions.
